Given the recent server problems, and due to the fact that I’m helping my folks with an online project, I’ve decided to start sprucing things up a bit around here. As such, I’ve installed a new theme. I’m not sure if I’ll stick with it yet, but I like it better than the Wordpress default, so it will probably stay until I find something I like more (or decide to break down and design an original theme of my own).

Any comments about the new look are welcome.

So, I’ve implemented a new WordPress plugin to filter out spammers (this means I no longer have to require logins in order for people to post a comment here).

It’s called “Peter’s Custom Anti-Spam Plugin” and it uses captchas (those distorted images of word thingys) to let you prove you’re a human being and not a script or a bot when making a post. My friend from work Jeremy recommended it, and it seems to work pretty well.

So, I wrote a primitive little about me page, and put some links to things I’m interested/involved in.

It’s not really possible to lay bare the entire scope of a human life on a few little web pages. In fact, it would be difficult to fit into a bookshelf full of heavy volumes. A life is a complex thing, you know? And other people only ever touch the edges of your own. Even those you are close to, though in different ways.

Other far more lucid thinkers have said this same sort of thing for countless ages, and far better than I. But it’s still true.

Here’s hoping somebody gets something out of the little slices of myself that I am able to share in this limited space.

I’ve put a few links on my main page on my brand new domain (this one).

They mostly link to stuff on my Comcast personal webspace right now, but probably some of this stuff will be migrated over here sometime soon (although you might not really notice unless you glance at the address bar of your browser).
